Mallorca Climate |
Mallorca is always a perfect holiday destination, regardless of the season. Beach-loving holidaymakers will undoubtedly prefer the hot summer months when temperatures average highs of 28ºC and the lovely, warm evenings spent drinking or dining outside average 19ºC. Sailing aficionados are in for a treat in August when the famous regatta, the ‘Copa del Rey’, is held in Palma. If endless days on the beach spent lapping up the sun are not your cup of tea, Mallorca’s warm springs and autumns are ideal for sightseeing or for a turn on one of its golf courses. Average spring highs of 22ºC and lows of 12ºC provide perfect conditions for exploring the trails of the Serra de Tramuntana or birdwatching in the marshes of the Parque Natural de la Albufera. The sun continues to shine in autumn, when temperatures average highs of 23ºC and lows of 14ºC. This is a good time to visit the charming towns on the western-facing slopes of the mountains and the renowned monasteries of Lluc and Valldemossa, the latter of which exhibits various Chopin-related memorabilia, piano included, in the cells where he lived. A mid-January trip (winter temperatures average highs of 15ºC and lows of 7ºC) will coincide with the island’s most important festival, the Festival de Sant Sebastià, when street animation in the form of outdoor barbecues, firework displays and live music will soon dispel those January blues. ![]() Temperature Average Cº
